Where did October go?

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple weeks! Life has been so busy. I completed my first marathon and pretty much just slept for 3 days straight. So now it is back to all the many things to do. :)

First of all just a reminder to my parents: Preschool on Wednesday this week will start at 10:30 and go until 11:30. It is our Halloween party this day! I am so excited to see the kids all decked out in their cute and scary costumes!

Some of the fun things we have been doing:

Letter F is for practicing our alphabet in foam.

F is for Fall Leaves that have Fallen to the ground. We had a fun walking field trip to the park across the street and collected lots of leaves. Afterwards we used them to do stencil rubs and make a picture.

Letter E is for ears/eyes and for Letter E monsters!

We played a listening bingo game and then made our letter E have lots of monster eyes.

Letter G is for spooky ghosts hanging on our doors. We made this fun craft for art. Afterwards we made some ghosts out of Nutter Butters, white chocolate and chocolate chips.

We also made ghost telescopes this day and I had hidden little ghosts around the room for them to find. They loved this game. Afterwards we played the game Ghost in the Graveyard.

Number Day: We learned about a lot of our numbers and played a couple fun games. The first one was a candy corn game. They had a candy corn on each number and when I drew that number out of my jack o lantern bucket they got to eat that candy corn. The next game we played was one that you need a dice and some activities for the kids to do. For example: they roll a 5 and picked out jumping jacks for the action. They all did 5 jumping jacks.

We made Spooky spiders and hung them from our spider web in the class.

Lots of eyes peeking at us :)

Shape day: We learned about all of our shapes and brainstormed things in the world that look like that shape.

Afterwards they got to pick 5 shapes out of a bag and make a picture with them. They were so creative! Triangles turned into tents. Hearts turned into dogs, and lots of other fun things.

As you can see we have been busy but busy means fun and I wouldn't have it any other way! :)
