January/February

Happy New Year! We enjoyed our Arctic Unit and learning all about Polar Bears and Penguins. We did centers along with the book Polar Bear, Polar Bear what do You Hear? We measured different pictures using our bear counters, made polar bear puff paint pictures, took care of eggs just like a daddy penguin does while the mom is off catching food, fish counted for snack time, made a letter P Penguin and lots of penguin centers (Sensory tubs, felt boards, memory games, one to one correspondence, etc)

Martin Luther King Day! We loved learning about taking care of others. We did some fun object lessons with brown egg/white egg and presents that were wrapped differently but had the exact same thing inside to talk about how everyone has a heart and is the same inside (a loving person). We talked about different ways they can change the world and they made a picture to go along with it. We played a lot of friendship games this day.









Nursery Rhymes Star Light Star Bright we learned a little about our solar system and made star wands to use with our wishing poem. Hickory Dickory Dock we made their own clocks and practiced making times on our clocks.

Valentine Party ( Who is my valentine game, heart healthy exercising, decorating cookies, spin the bottle(Tell your friend something nice and give them a Hershey kiss), made cards for our families, passed out valentines) 


























Made some turtle bread for our Tortoise and the Hare day before getting ready for our play to Scera theater. This bread is so yummy! Recipe is found here:

Dental Health day, painting with toothbrushes to get those teeth sparkly clean
