Zoo Day
We made a graph and the kids got to vote for which animal was their favorite.
Tiger was the winner.
During center time we made our own tigers out of square shapes and the kids got to cut out their own stripes. We also played a memory game with zoo animals.
We enjoyed some animal crackers for a snack and sang some fun zoo songs.
Solar System
The kids loved learning about the different planets and how they orbit around the sun. They loved putting together a puzzle and looking at real pictures of all the planets.
We made our own solar system out of circle shapes. And added lots of stars.
The kids enjoyed playing a blast off game at the park as well as a game of sun, sun, sun, earth. Played like duck, duck goose.
Robot Day
Miss Lindsay took these with her phone so they are a little blurry. We made our own robots out of lots of shapes. We also played a button game to practice counting and adding with our dominos. The kids had lots of fun playing with gears and making them into machines. At the end of the day we had a great time dancing like a robot.
America Day
We talked about the American Flag and what the stars and stripes represent. During centers we made our own flags. We also sorted stars by shapes and colors. I pulled out my favorite American blanket for them to have a pretend picnic. After snack time we learned a 4th of July song. I also gave the kids some streamers. When they heard the magic word "Boom" they got to pretend to be a firework. Then I would say "Crash" and they would fall to the ground. They loved this game and loved when I would trick them with other silly words.
It sure has been a great month! I can't wait for lots of more fun and learning in July.
